Starting point.

The Hook is one of the world's largest social media groups, known for creating awarding winning original content for over 10 million fans.

The team at The Hook approached us to completely redesign their site and launch it on a new platform that would support the new vision for the brand along with the ambitious growth plan for the group companies.

The brief was simple - We’d really like to make a statement with this website. We want to stand out from our competitors and their corporate pages, to explain our multi-layered offering stylishly and with ease while offering an extremely slick user experience and pushing the boundaries of web design and development at the same time.

Taking the brand further

The site had to position The Hook Group as one of the market leaders in their industry – so we had to establish credibility and authority through case studies and a full library of original content. They also wanted to look and sound completely different from their competitors so set about creating a bold and fun experience that would resonate with the target audience, delight the user through quirky interaction design and capture the personality and vision for the brand.

The challenge was to make the site stand-out from the competitors and create a dynamic experience while still building a framework whereby the client could easily maintain the site moving forward.

We utilised a modern and confident design language, leaning heavily on the vibrant blood orange and white brand colour scheme coupled with over-sized typography and engaging content.

Establishing authority.

In order to successfully establish their credibility and authority in the market place we needed to create an experience that would allow the user to easily browse and watch the large selection of original content that the brand produces. To achieve this, we created their own media centre where the shows can be categorised based upon show type and watched easily from your desktop or digital device. To ensure we maintained the brand experience through the site we created a custom video player along with ‘fancy’ cursor controls.
