Under Armour spacesuit

Under Armour has unveiled the world’s first spacesuit “engineered for the masses,” which will be worn by Virgin Galactic’s ‘future astronauts’. As Virgin Galactic’s technical spacewear partner, Under Armour, has created a whole spacewear system, comprising of a base layer, spacesuit, footwear, training suit and limited edition astronaut jacket, all designed exclusively for the world’s first commercial spaceline. “Virgin Galactic gave us an exciting challenge to build the world’s first commercial spacesuit,” said Kevin Plank founder and chief executive of Under Armour in a statement. “Innovation is at the core of everything we do and our team delivered a unique twist on the classic spacesuit utilising both existing and new UA technologies to define space gear for the future. It is an incredible opportunity to showcase our key performance innovations in space at the highest level and continue to push the limits of human performance.”

Argos bangs the drum for Christmas

Argos is putting the item that perhaps best sets it apart from rival retailers – its catalogue – at the centre of this year’s Christmas campaign, in which a father and daughter conjure up a roaring rock concert during a drumming duet. The three-minute film, created by The & Partnership London, is soundtracked by 1985 hit Don’t You (Forget About Me) by Simple Minds, famous for its use in teen classic The Breakfast Club.

Phillip Schofield and Craft Gin Club

TV host Schofield’s back in another ad – as the gin king. The advertising, includes a series of online videos and a “tongue-in-cheek” column for its magazine, Ginned!. The first film, created and produced by Recipe shows Schofield getting increasingly irate as the camera focuses more on the product than him, leading to the comment: Don’t mess with me, I’m Phillip f***ing Schofield! “It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of gin so partnering with Craft Gin Club was a no brainer,” said Schofield.

The North Face & Dr.Martens

The North Face Purple Label collaborates with Dr.Martens on a set of premium suede boots, just in time for winter. The boots come in muted colorways of black and beige, accented with subtle hits of purple all around. The top of the collars are kept relatively sleek, minimizing padding for a skinnier fit.
